Thank you to everyone who came out to our Hagen Ranch Library workshop on Saturday and Open Roda today at the Beat Cup by Resta Delray. It truly was touching to feel the energy of the love and support from all our students! See you all in classes this week! Let’s start August off with a bang and start training HARD for the batizado which will be here before we know it! (Save the date…it’s lookin like November 19th!) Our next presentations will be Friday August 12th at noon at North Broward Medical Center in Pompano Beach for the 2011 Portuguese Conference, and Saturday August 13th at 4pm at Pompey Park Rec Center in Delray Beach for the Community Back to School Bash! So many exciting things happening, we are truly blessed! Let’s keep spreading the AXE of capoeira throughout our community as we ourselwes continue to grow and improve through the hard training we do in class all week long…..AXE CAPOEIRA KARKARA!!!!

Thank you once again to all the students who came out last night to help make C.M. Betinho’s birthday the best yet. It was a great roda and a great dinner party afterwards! We had an impressive turnout of about 30 people who were able to make it. We are already looking forward to next year’s even bigger celebration! TONIGHT WE CELEBRATE FACAO AND ELECTRICO’S BIRTHDAY AT OUR 7PM CLASS AT THE YMCA! THESE ARE OUR 2 OLDEST STUDENTS WHO HAVE BEEN WITH US THE LONGEST…WE REALLY APPRECIATE THEIR COMMITMENT AND DEDICATION OVER THE YEARS. WE WOULD LIKE TO GIVE BACK TO THEM BY HAVING A NICE TURNOUT TONIGHT SO WE ALL CAN (TRY) TO KICK THEIR BUTTS IN THE RODA!!!! SEE YOU TONIGHT AT 7PM. AXE!!!!!

Thank you to all who came to participate in our performance in downtown Delray on Saturday at the Juneteenth Celebration. Not only did many of our students from Delray and Boynton take the time to come out and support us, but we had people come from Melbourne, Orlando, Hollywood and Fort Laurderdale, all there to support our family and what we do! Even to those of you who could not come out but still support us whenever you can, we are so grateful, and we are so excited to witness the continued growth and success of our strong family! Let’s train hard this week! The new uniforms have FINALLY arrived so get yours fast before they run out! We’ll bring them to classes….see you tonight at LEVEL 5 FITNESS. Borboleta’s Bday Roda (pt 2), MUSIC tonight after 7pm Training at the YMCA followed by Chili’s!

Good morning capoeiristas! Tonight we will be celebrating Borboleta’s Birthday with a RODA after training at 7pm at the YMCA followed by MUSIC CLASS where we will practice for our upcoming DEMONSTRATIONS NEXT SATURDAY JUNE 18th at Juneteenth Celebration in Downtown Delray Beach (around 5pm). It will be a great night for sure…

This Saturday June 11th is our next Melbourne Workshop. Carpool leaving YMCA at noon SHARP. There is an OPEN RODA in ORLANDO the next day on Sunday and you are all encouraged to attend if possible…a great opportunity to learn and grow your game playing with our extended family of capoeiristas!

The Juneteenth Celebration we will be performing at next Saturday is a very important event for us since it is the celebration of freedom from slavery, and that is what capoeira is all about! All are welcome to help us show our community who we are and what we’re about. Thank you in advance!

By Monday we should have the raw footage from the FoxSports Florida shoot so of course we will share that when we get it. Stay tuned – we are finalizing the date of when Comcast On Demand will be in class filming us for a few segments on Capoeira!

FOX SPORTS FILMING THIS FRIDAY’S CLASS AT THE YMCA 7PM

ATTENTION ALL BOYNTON AND DELRAY ADULT STUDENTS! Fox Sports Florida will be filming our class on Friday and we will be on television so please come to the adults class at the YMCA at 7pm if you are able to, whether or not you are registered for classes this month. Come out, come out, wherever you are, all of our students, we appreciate the support! Please wear your Karkara shirts. We will be selling them in class if you don’t have your’s yet.

Also, don’t forget that Thursday will be roda with live music and music class after training at the YMCA at 7pm. Everyone is invited to that too.

RSVP to this event on Facebook if you haven’t yet! It’s going to be the best workshop yet! First ever CAPOEIRA KARKARA workshop! Everyone’s invited, only $15 per person. Starts at 2pm at World Class MMA in Melbourne, FL. Carpool leaves Boynton YMCA at noon SHARP right after kids class ends. If you plan on carpooling, please let us know so we can arrange who will be driving/how many cars we’ll need. We will also have a music class after training so bring your instruments if you have them! All levels welcome. AXE!
